La Noslière de Bas
La Noslière de Bas is a hamlet comprising three houses. One is a post-war rebuild to replace a mill destroyed during the war, another is a converted stable. Ours is the oldest, dating from 1671. We bought it in February 1989 as a holiday cottage and came to live here in August 1994.
We have added modern conveniences (central heating, an upstairs WC/shower, double glazing, wall and roof insulation) wherever possible keeping original features (fireplace, beams) and also extensions for a fitted kitchen, a scullery, a ground-floor bedroom with en-suite WC/shower and a garage. These have been designed and built to remain in keeping with the existing building.
One of the glories of living here is that you can be working in the garden and hear nothing except birdsong.
